Description

Ōhaupō Memorial Park, located on Great South Road, serves as a tribute to the local men who served and died in both World Wars. Accessed through a wrought iron arch, the park features a narrow walkway leading to a brick pavilion, where a granite memorial tablet lists the names of 12 men who died in World War I and seven in World War II.

The park, established circa mid-20th century, also includes playing fields, a refurbished tennis court, and is an important site for ANZAC ceremonies, with wreaths placed annually at the cenotaph. Historically, the land was once home to the giant Ōhaupō sale yards, which stretched across the township to the railway boundary line.
