Description

The RSA Memorial at Hautapu Cemetery, unveiled in 1952, honours the Cambridge residents who lost their lives in the South African War, World War I, and World War II. Located on Victoria Road, the memorial features a list of names and stands as a significant tribute to the community’s wartime sacrifices.

It adds to the cemetery’s rich history which includes the earliest recorded burial in Cambridge, Dugald Charles Edward S MacColl, that took place in 1866 and the establishment of a cemetery trust in 1878.
