Cambridge RSA Roll on Honour
1947
Details
Description
The Cambridge RSA Roll of Honour commemorates local men who gave their lives in World Wars I and II. Initially unveiled as a temporary roll at the RSA clubrooms in 1942, it listed 74 names from the First World War and 35 from the Second.
A permanent memorial tablet, crafted from heart rimu and oak from a tree on the club’s property, was unveiled on Anzac Day 1947, with additional names added to both rolls. After the RSA clubrooms closed in December 2003, the memorial was relocated to the Cambridge Museum, where it continues to honour their sacrifice.
