Description

Unveiled on 23 January 1949, the Te Pahu Roll of Honour commemorates local men who served and died in both World Wars. This wooden carving, designed by Hill and Hawkins of Hamilton, features an open book with pages inscribed with the names of 11 men who died in World War I, 26 who served, and 9 who died in World War II, along with 36 others who served.

The Te Pahu Hall, which houses the memorial, opened in 1911 and was later renovated in the 1980s. The Roll of Honour stands as a reminder of the community’s sacrifice and service during the world wars.
