Description
The artwork was “gifted from Waipā King Country Members of Rural Women NZ” who commissioned it to mark the millennium.
Its arch shape signifies the passing of one era into another. The rectangular column represents man while the curved form symbolises woman. The space in-between them is the child. This celebrates the union of family.
This sculpture is situated within the Sculpture Park that was developed as a millennium project by a volunteer group – “Keep Te Awamutu Beautiful Society” in 2000.
