We have some new game tables up in the mezzanine that introduce Tui & Tama’s new friends. Meet these new friends by spotting them around the Museum, then get an entry form from reception, fill it in and go into the draw for two prize packs.

As members you’ll also receive a special friends badge!

Don’t worry if you’re not a member, you can pick up a registration form online from here or come into the Museum and pick one up at our reception, it’s FREE to join!

The Museum is going Batty!

Due to Covid levels, visitors may be a bit weary to attend events. The Te Awamutu Museum has made a call to change their afternoon indoor event to a week long trail, making it easier for families to come in and enjoy finding bats around the Museum. “Covid is really making it difficult for families to enjoy Museum events, so we are inviting everyone to pop into the Museum for Tui & Tama’s Great Bat Trail!” Come in to the Museum for our special Halloween Giveaway competition – find all the coloured bats, enter the prize draw and get a special Tui & Tama Badge!

Date: Saturday 23rd – Saturday 30th October 2021

Time: Museum Opening Hours: Mon-Fri 10am-4pm and Sat 10am-2pm.

Cost: FREE ENTRY

Matariki Tui & Tama Club Event

A fun activity open to members only of the  Tui & Tama Kids Club

Club members are invited to a special Matariki event!

Story time with nationally recognised local author Kat Quin of the award winning Kuwi the Kiwi books.

Join Kat at the Museum for an afternoon of sharing with us her latest Matariki book..

Flit the Fantail and the Matariki Map

Guided by the twinkling Matariki starts, Flit and his friends try to find their way home. With native NZ flora and fauna, some insight into Matariki, counting in te reo, and featuring the cutest of lead characters, this is a book that Kiwi kids will treasure.

Kat will be reading her book, which will be available for purchase and signing. There will be Matariki-themed activities and a Matariki member badge to collect!

Date: Wednesday 7th July

Time: Two sessions: 2.30pm for pre-schoolers, and 3.30pm for school-aged kids.

Great Annual Easter Egg Hunt

A fun activity open to members and non-members of the Tui & Tama Kids Club!

Dress up as your favourite character or superhero and join in the fun of searching for hidden egg locations within the museum. Lots of Easter activities to explore and do.

Teddy Bear Picnic 2020

A fun activity for kids of all ages and their best soft toy friend!

A fun activity for the kids to bring in their cherished soft toy, leave it with staff who will take the toys through a myriad of activities before tucking them in for a night in the Museum. The next day, the toys will be ready for the kids to join them in a picnic and short movie about the toys Museum adventures. This is open to Tui & Tama Club members only. Please fill in the form below or call into the Museum and fill in a registration form.

Soft toy requirements: One toy per child, to be no more than 30cm in height and width.

Drop off date and time: 18th November by 3.30pm

Picnic date and time: 19th November 3.30pm-4pm
