Putiputi Flower Weaving with Harakeke

Wednesday 30th September

Learn the fundamentals of working with harakeke (flax) and basic weaving techniques.

Two sessions: 10.30am-12.30pm & 1.30pm-3.30pm

Cost: $5 per participant, per session

Tīpare Headband Weaving with Harakeke

Thursday 1st October

Learn the fundamentals of working with harakeke (flax) and how to create different plaits.

Cookies & Canvas for the kids

Saturday 3nd October

Back by popular demand! A fun and easy to follow, step-by-step tutorial on how to paint a whimsical painting while enjoying a cookie. More info to come!

Rourou Basket Weaving Harakeke

Wednesday 7th October

This is a great way to test your weaving skills as you navigate how to create a four corner basket. With these skills you can create bigger, wider, smaller and multifunctional environment friendly re-usable baskets.

Two sessions: 10.30am-12.30pm & 1.30pm-3.30pm

Cost: $5 per participant, 10 participants only per session

Ages: 8yrs+

Skill: Intermediate-advanced


Whāriki Mat Weaving Harakeke

Thursday 8th October

Challenge yourself with this next level of weaving a mat! From these skills you can create floor mats to simple book coverings, the ideas are endless. This workshop is aimed at participants who have a basic knowledge of weaving who have had attended prior weaving workshops. Not for beginners.

One full day session: 10.30am-3.30pm

Cost: $10 per participant, 10 participants only for this session

Ages: 10yrs+

Skill: Advanced skill level

What to bring: Your own lunch and water bottles, small tarp, old towel, scissors, blunt knife and a good sense of humour.


Cuppa, Cake & Canvas

Saturday 10th October

This is one all day session for the adults. This painting tutorial will take you through a fun and easy to follow, step-by-step tutorial on how to paint a whimsical painting while enjoying the social side of a cuppa. More info on the subject to come.

One full day session: 10.30am-1pm

Cost: $20 per participant, per session

Ages: 18yrs+

Skill: Learner-Intermediate
