Māori Myths & Legends with Taniwha!
Tui & Tama’s friend Taniwha is hosting the month of October’s Public Programme!
Each month begins on the Saturday with a FREE Tui & Tama Club event for existing and new members. Tui and Tama’s friends introduce the month’s theme and activities. Each club member receives a Tui & Tama Club Passport to record their participation at the end of the activities with a mascot sticker! Members collect all 6 mascot stickers to go into a special end of year prize pack!
This month our mascot Taniwha welcomes everyone this October to learn about local myths & legends of the Waipā!
Come on in to gain your next Tui & Tama Activity Passport sticker – Taniwha when you complete all the awesome FREE activities happening on Saturday!
- Learn how to use our specially designer hand-made printer with ours or your own crafted taniwha design!
- Design-a-Taniwha using light boxes and creature parts,
- Make a Taniwha mask and embellish it with colour and jewels,
- Create an articulated Taniwha whose joints move,
- Make a taniwha mono print…and much more!
- Learn about our awesome local myths presented as a graphic novel!
