The 28th of October is a day of commemorations for the Aotearoa New Zealand Land Wars including 1863-1864 British invasion of the Waikato.
Locally we remember Pā Te Rangi and the sacking of Rangiaowhia, Hairini and Ō-Rākau. Flags will be flying throughout townships within the Waipā district where possible. Check local newspapers for commemorations details.

In conjunction with the Te Awamutu and Districts RSA, the Te Awamutu Museum is hosting a commemorative service for the Battle of the Somme.
100 years ago on September 15th, the New Zealand Division entered the battlefield of the Somme.
Join members of the RSA to commemorate the sacrifice of those New Zealand men who still lie in France.
