Rā Maumahara: NZ Land Wars Commemorations

The 28th of October is a day of commemorations for the Aotearoa New Zealand Land Wars including 1863-1864 British invasion of the Waikato.

Locally we remember Pā Te Rangi and the sacking of Rangiaowhia, Hairini and Ō-Rākau. Flags will be flying throughout townships within the Waipā district where possible. Check local newspapers for commemorations details.

The Museum has some limited edition Rā Maumahara buttons, if you’d like to get yours call in to the Museum and see the range!

Date: Thursday 28th October 2021
